Looks like I've always been a loner (not to be confused with loaner)

I came across this gem from the summer of 1984 the other day when I was looking for pictures for Red's birthday blog and I couldn't resist sharing it.

Could Mike and Red possibly look any cuter than they do in this photo--he with his floppy hair and missing tooth and she with her cute little baby feet sticking out of her cute little baby overalls? Just look at the way they're all snuggled up with their sweet smiles and Mike with his endearing head tilt? Sitting on that couch, they look like a 1975 Christmas greeting...absolutely adorable. I bet they make their parents proud.

It's a crying shame I ended up in the picture with them. I look like a sad firefighter, hardened by all the grief I'd experienced in my many years. I look like I have a receding hairline. I look like I drank a six pack with my graham crackers at snack time. I look like I was storing nuts in my cheeks. I look like I dressed myself that day....

Good grief though, I wish I still had those pretty blonde curls!

Who wants to see the Twins play the Red Sox on August 7th? I'm terrified of driving downtown. So...you drive, I give you a ticket. It's one hell of a deal.

Holy crap, I want to see the Twins v. the Sox! I already braved downtown traffic once this summer to see the Twins play the Royals, for Pete's sake. I think I could do it again for the Red Sox.
