Austin....Austin, Massatwoshits?
I just read Red's blog and I have to agree that this weekend felt twice as long as a typical weekend. Having said that, I did get drunk and I did have a hangover and it was still fabulous. Getting the boozing out of the way on Friday night is the trick. Then, by the time you've recovered from the hangover, you still have one entire work-free day of sleeping in and slacking to look forward to.
Those of you who didn't make it out on Friday night missed one hell of a good time...and not only because the neighbor's dog was involved. By nine o'clock it looked like we were going to be stood up by everybody except our first guest and his new girlfriend, who deserted us by 9:30 because they had better things to do. By ten o'clock though, the people started rolling in. How much fun can a group really have before the neighbors arrive and the deer sausage is cooked anyway?
I don't feel remotely guilty or stupid about Friday night so all thoughts of giving up drinking have subsided for the time being. In fact, this was just a primer for the upcoming brouhaha, which I don't think I could possibly be more excited about. These next two weeks can't pass quickly enough! Why didn't it occur to me to let Red throw a party at my house sooner?
Back to scrapbooking, but before I leave you....
My person of the day is Jessica Simpson for making stupid look so good. I just saw, for the first time, the episode of Newlyweds in which she refers to Massachusetts as Massatwoshits. Oh, the giggles...
