Don't you love people who just don't care?

I strolled into the ladies room this morning, minutes before my long, crappy meeting, which was making me bitchy before it even started. I scanned the row of stalls to see that they were all empty (joy!), but then spotted a thirtysomething woman wiping down the counters. To me, there's an awkwardness about sharing restroom space with an on-duty custodian. I always feel apologetic, like my feet are too dirty or I'm washing my hands too haphazardly. She spotted me and smiled kindly and I realized it was too late to turn back (as I often do, out of respect, when I see the cart of cleaning supplies positioned outside the door.) I smiled back and slipped quietly into the stall. The moment I dropped my pants, she began belting out an unfamiliar Spanish ballad. I kid you not. This was no soft humming or whistle-while-you-work situation. She just let it all out there, American Idol audition style. It wasn't just a line or two either, like maybe she forgot where she was for a second. She serenaded me non-stop while I peed and washed my hands (very carefully, no stray suds). As much as it brightened my day, it did nothing to ease my perpetual discomfort.

My picture of the day today is Anna because, by golly, she's just so sweet and cute and tiny and we love to have her around.
Oh, and because she didn't flip me off when I took this picture. There's something about Chuck and Landis together...if you're taking a picture of them and each has a beer in one hand, there's a great chance that the other hand will be making an obscene gesture.
