Oh, blog...

I have been getting a little behind. I blame it on the fact that I graciously offered to make Gretchen a cd of mine, Red's, and Christina's pictures from the trip and then forgot to get the files from Red's computer before I left Tower, so now I'm stuck downloading them all individually off of flickr. All three hundred of them....two hundred of which are the Golden Gate Bridge.

Or maybe I've been getting behind because I've spent a good chunk of my online time watching episodes of The Real World: Hollywood. Aurora was here on Friday busting my chops for not keeping up on the MTV reality crap, and she obviously got to me because the day after she left, I was all, "HOW did I not watch this season of The Real World?!" and started watching it obsessively online. One of the boys, Joey, makes me cry every single gd episode. He's a crazy alcoholic and his childhood was horrible and his dad drank himself to death and his mom is a crack whore and every time I watch an episode I have to reapply my mascara afterwards.

Oh, sweet milestone. Yesterday Nic and I celebrated the anniversary of our first date. Staying true to the relationship norms we've set, he got me a sweet card and I got him...nothing. D'oh! We agreed to not do presents and I just assumed that included cards. So, I'm an a-hole and, apparently, the man in the relationship.

We started our evening at Thai Krathong, of course, and then went down to Park Point afterwards to walk along the sand and wade around in the water. It was the most gorgeous night and the mood was very casual and laid back, in true Nico and Neej fashion. At the risk of sounding cliche, I feel like I've known Nic for eons longer than a year, but, at the same time, I can't believe a year has already passed since we went to Fitgers and Heroes for a couple of drinks and he went home completely unimpressed but called me the next day out of pity anyway, just because he's that kind of guy. He's also the kind of guy that leaves work early and speeds home to take his twenty-seven year old girlfriend to Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, even though she insists she doesn't mind seeing it alone. Spoiled effin rotten, I am. Thank goodness he gave me a second (and a third, and a fourth) chance.

Now I'm off to Target because my iTunes cards are all drained and I can't stop thinking about Leather and Lace since watching the video of Will Ferrell performing it with Dave Grohl.
