It feels like I never left, except that I had to reset my forgotten password.

So, I think I'm going to try to give this whole blogging thing another try. If I find out that it's interfering with my busy napping schedule though, forget about it. Midafternoon sleeping beats keeping a personal account of memorable occasions in my young adult life that I can fondly look back on for years to come ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

It seems it's been over a year since I've last posted. What's happened in that time, you ask?

Well, for starters, I have a niece. Her name is Taylor Elizabeth and she was born September 10 of last year, which makes her juuust about nine months old. She is extraordinarly intelligent and the cutest baby that has ever lived. Would I bullshit you? I would post pictures to support that claim, but I'm new again (renew?) to the world of blogging and I need to ease myself back into it. Also, it takes longer than just typing "SHE'S REALLY CUTE!!!!" and, again, this can't interfere with naptime. But seriously, adorable. I don't know how someone who so closely resembles my brother can be so gd cute.

What else, what else...

Oh, I am currently involved in the second "serious" relationship of my life, unless you count the rabbit but he died almost two years ago now, and I'm trying not to dwell on the past. I met Nic almost a year ago (gosh, how time flies when you're having fun!) and we've spent pretty much every possible moment together since then. It's disgusting how much we still like each other. He treats me, hands down, better than I have ever been treated by anybody before him. He's very laid back, which is in stark contrast to that volatile walking, drinking temper tantrum named Chuck who used to whisper sweet nothings such as "I want to hit you so goddamn bad right now but I know you'd run to the phone and call your dad." Or...you know...the police?

Nic is wrapped around my little finger and he will be the first to admit it. In the past year, we've taken a road trip to Nashville for my cousin Tom's wedding, a weeklong vacation to Florida for shits and giggles, countless weekend trips to Tower to hang out with the family, and one frighteningly badass walk up to Enger Tower WHEN IT WAS CLOSED. We should be preemptively arrested just for being such potential menaces to society. We are so much alike, it's alarming. I'm his "me with boobs."

My job has changed significantly in the last year as well. I have begun working three days a week in a different department, which means actually having to drive to work. Twelve excruciatingly long miles each way. With gas costing $4/gallon, I'm really missing the shit out of the courthouse. Of course, I also miss the courthouse for the public aspect, mostly the taxpayers throwing fits about their hard-earned money being spent on our wages, when they can see we don't do a damn thing but play solitaire and nap in the restrooms all day long.

Past shmast. On a very futuristic note, Red turns twenty-five in just over a week. As I'm sure you recall (NOT!), she took me to Boston, the land of beautiful accents and boners in the pahks, for my twenty-fifth birthday, so for her twenty-fifth, we are off to beautiful (pure speculation as I've never been there) San Francisco next week. This time around we decided to invite others to enjoy in the Morley sisters' vacation experience, and two of our fave bitches were actually dumb enough to take us up on that offer so we will be joined by Christina and Gretchen. I can't wait to wear some flowers in my hair...and also some rainbows, because we are going to be there during Pride weekend and I always thought Doogie Howser was pretty cute. I also hear everything is very expensive there, so I plan to wear short skirts (do lesbians like that?) and flirt with as many girls as it takes for me to earn some free drinks.
